Mara's like Homer now, she just doesn't have that beard. Tell me, how did you get on my homemade pokemon? (grandson of Matej, who Mara lovingly cares for)
Mara lives with her grandson in one of the outskirts of Trencin. We’ll ring at the entrance and in a little while the incisor runs down the stairs to the energetic pensioner. He takes a close look, and when we introduce himself, he concludes that he can invite us in. He’ll introduce us to grandson Mato, who’s been handcuffed to a wheelchair from birth. The Maltese pinch runs, checks the smells, spins the tail, and continues to ignore us. Mara is excited about the award, but it is morning and does not have time to be ours. It’s Matko’s first priority, and then it’s Kubko’s turn, doggie. To speed up our mission, we’ll offer to walk the dog.
Mary already smells coffee. He will settle us in a modern apartment full of paintings, photographs, antiques and various charming little things that make him comfortable. Mara sits down to write nominations. It takes a long time to write an award because we also talk about their lives and constantly laugh. Martin is a bright young man with a great sense of humor. With Mara, as she calls her grandma, a couple are played. Unity makes fun of each other. It’s strange, in places black and at the same time incredibly kind humor. Mara will mention that even at retirement age, she sometimes teaches children to swim or ski. Mato immediately blames her for not teaching him how to ski. Asking what he likes most, he answers to sit. Grandma laughs and deals with writing. Mara’s like Homer now, he just doesn’t have a beard like that, says Mato. Mara’s already laughing so she has to put her pen down. A similar situation is repeated countless times. We’ll know they like to go to town. The movies, the theatre and the beer pub. After an hour and a half, we say goodbye. The joy of having a pleasant meeting with an immensely warm and cheerful couple prevails, but at the same time I am touched by their love and self – sacrifice. To us today was special.
