Ceremonial Hosts
Jana devoted her student years to education with a specialisation in teaching children and young people with emotional and social difficulties. For more than 25 years she has been active in amateur theatre and youth theatre (Malá Múza, Hugo, Masky), and for the past two years she has also worked professionally at the Municipal Theatre in Trenčín as both an actress and stage manager. She describes herself as an optimist who believes in the power of kindness, enjoys inspiring others, and never loses her sense of humour.

At heart, Katarína has always been a teacher. Professionally, however, she has spent more than fifteen years managing and evaluating projects at every level and across a wide range of fields. She has a talent for finding order in chaos and is equally fluent in the languages of numbers and letters. Her creative side finds expression in popular non-fiction books for children and in various writing projects. She joined the trenČIN project through Trenčín 2026.

Peter studied at the School of Applied Arts in Bratislava and has been involved in amateur theatre in Púchov for more than 35 years. He is a playwright, director, and set designer. As a director and workshop leader, he collaborates with Vertigo Theatre in Budapest and with amateur theatre companies in Slovakia and Serbia. He has also worked in marketing, advertising, and for fourteen years as an editor for regional media. His improvisational experience and communication skills form the foundation of his role in the trenČIN project.

Silvia’s personality is a blend of two worlds: one literary and creative, the other practical and managerial. Although she has spent her life balancing tourism and creative writing, today she describes herself above all as an educator, working with everyone from preschool children and school pupils to adults and seniors. She is the author of more than twenty books for children and adults, as well as numerous other publications. She has received several awards, yet believes that recognition should also go to the people who often remain invisible, even though life would simply lose its colour without them.

Project author
Kateřina Šedá (born 1977) is a Czech artist whose work bears a close relationship to social architecture. Beginning in 1999, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under Professor Vladimír Kokolia, graduating in 2005.
Her work centres on socially conceived projects that often involve dozens or even hundreds of people with no connection to the art world. Most take place directly in villages or on city streets. Through experiments in human relationships, she seeks to disrupt established routines and overcome social isolation. By encouraging participants to take active roles and discover new uses for ordinary everyday means, she aims to bring about lasting changes in their behaviour.
Šedá is the author of numerous socially conceived projects realised both in the Czech Republic and abroad. She has been invited to develop new commissions by leading art institutions including Artpark Buffalo Niagara, USA (2022–2024); Milton Keynes Arts Centre, UK (2022–2023); Sofia City Art Gallery, Bulgaria (2020–2021); LIAF, Norway (2019); IHME, Helsinki, Finland (2016); SFMOMA, San Francisco (2013–2014); and Tate Modern, London (2011). She has also created projects commissioned by cities, municipalities, retirement homes, and other organisations. Her work has been exhibited, among other places, at the 16th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia (2018); MMOMA, Moscow (2016); the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, Japan (2015); the Venice Biennale (2013); Kunstmuseum Luzern (2012); the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (2010); the New Museum, New York (2009); Manifesta 7, Bolzano (2008); the 5th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art (2008); the Renaissance Society, Chicago (2008); and Documenta 12 in Kassel (2007).
Her work has received numerous awards, including the City of Brno Award (2025), Czech Architect of the Year (2017), the Magnesia Litera Award for Journalism (Czech Republic), the TAKU Production Prize (Finland), the Most Beautiful Czech Books Award, the Contemporary Art Society Award (UK), the Jindřich Chalupecký Award (Czech Republic), the Fluxus Award (Germany), the Essl Award (Austria), and others. She has published more than thirty books and publications documenting her projects in detail.

Production
David is Head of Production and a key member of Kateřina Šedá’s team. She has worked with him for over fifteen years. He oversees production management, coordinates each stage of the project’s implementation, and ensures that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, from administration to day-to-day operations. Thanks to his extensive experience and systematic approach, he plays an essential role in delivering complex artistic and public projects.

Project manager
Lenka trained as a historian, with a touch of social psychology. Although uncovering stories in dusty archives brought her great satisfaction, she found herself missing contact with the stories of living people. Her journey took her from Beckov Castle and the Cultural Centre in Považská Bystrica to the Trenčín 2026 team, where she was entrusted with community projects that allow her not only to put her management skills to good use, but also to help bring neighbourhoods to life. In the trenČIN project, she bridges the worlds of art and administrative necessity.
