We know the cloak of invisibility from fairy tales. Just put it over your shoulders and no one will notice. Such a cloak would first be wanted by another prized woman, who is unnoticed by her work and personality, but prefers to stand in the background. He’s doing what he needs to do, without self-serving social media, without posing for photographers.
At Edita Prekopová, director of Social Services of the City of Trenčín, we only heard praise from employees and clients Social Services facilities. We didn’t ask questions, and yet we learned about it, for it is both a patronage and an inspiration for the team that works here.
She accepted us with surprise and fear, with tears moved and sincerely convinced that her appreciation did not matter. He’s doing his job after all.
She started as an accountant with social services. Over 23 years, she passed a number of positions, became familiar with the issue from various points of view, until she ended up in a management post. However, this assumes not only a person with a clear vision of the economy but also a personality with a great deal of empathy and social feeling. It was this dimension of the Director who was also most stressed by her colleagues.
Maybe it’s because I don’t have my parents anymore, that both of them died early enough, and I don’t have older people in my family, and this environment replaces me, and she’s considered it. She said that patience and kindness are the basis for her work, for the elderly are not only concerned about sickness or poverty.
We often solve relationship problems here. That’s the incompetence she said. Since they are an urban organization, their job is to take care of the street people.
We’re gonna give them a second life here because they were somewhere under the bridge and they became some of the hard mobile people they don’t want in any of the hostels and we’re gonna take care of them. Some people don’t even appreciate being here and taking good care of them, she added. Often, instead of thanking them, they get scolded.
They are lifelong ungrateful. We enter their targeted way of life, and the one we offer them is not what they want. But they can’t go back to the street anymore, and they take it as a punishment, and she says. She added that fortunately they have enough clients who, on the contrary, are grateful for what is done for them.
I’m sorry you only appreciate a few people here. I thought there were a lot of people here who deserved it.
I’m sure it’ll be true if the principal says so. And since we are merely messengers of good news and have no influence on who will be appreciated in the Tren-ČIN project, we can at least publish that the Director would appreciate all her employees. And we’re definitely not gonna stop her.
