We lured a young woman out in front of the elementary school building on the pretext that she had to move the car. We were barely able to fix our tartars, she was already opening her cart door.

Surprised to see us because the police don’t even go to the tartars.

Victoria Ando is the director of the Private Elementary Art School, where she teaches children theory and choir singing. At the same time, for two and a half years, the Trenčín Choir leads. The choirmaster inherited the function from Joseph Vakosh, whom we appreciated a month ago.

I’m working on this generation shift, looking for new people. We have few masters, do you want to join us?

The repertoire for the 30-man set selects emotionally, older and more modern melodies without accompaniment of musical instruments.

I try to select songs on a regular basis so that we can be at least four, and complete them.

The congregation’s singing fills her most with the knowledge that she builds a community of people through music. He believes that the chorus that their voices give is also transferable into relationships.

It is a huge responsibility: to come, to prepare and to lead those people. Young and older than me. Where you put that energy, it’s coming back to you.

Victoria also has a mixed choir in New Dubnica under the baton. To ensure that singing is not limited, as a singer she works in the female singing group Hrdličky, which Trenčians had the opportunity to hear also within the Trenčín 2026 project.

Besides all this, the caring wife, the mother of a four – year – old son, is happy to get home to her family.
