This time, we went to beautiful nature near Trenčín. We set off uninvited, hoping to catch Paul at his beloved cottage. Several times we had to turn around, look for the right path, but eventually our search ended successfully. At the end of the road, we had a cozy cottage with a simple but concise inscription The nickname the family inherited from Grandpa. Since there were more Mikušincov in the area, it was necessary to distinguish them in some way, and so a nickname was created -Šiška. The welcome was exactly as you would expect from Paľko, warm and hospitable. On a hot summer day, homemade elderberry refreshment came in handy, which delighted the body and soul. And it became clear that we came to a man who had opened not only his cottage door but also his heart. Paul Mikušinec is known as a passionate cyclist. Although after an injury, his health no longer allows him to spend as much time on his bike as he used to, his energy and the desire to be useful did not disappear. Today, he is mainly devoted to real estate, repairs and helping neighbors or acquaintances. We caught him in the neighborhood, too. As they say, he’s faking everything. Whether it is necessary to fix something, to advise or to help work around the house, Paľko is always ready to give a helping hand, whether to a passing cyclist, neighborhood help, good advice, or ordinary interest in others. His cottage is also a small treasure of memories. Old photographs, historical radios, jars and many other artifacts tell stories of the past and create a place where you feel comfortable after just a few minutes.
