I cannot be discouraged when it comes to the salvation of the soul and the help of people. And if we're gonna take a picture, I want a church tower in the background
It was not easy to arrange a meeting with Mrs Olga. One day in Central Slovakia, the other in the East. After four phone calls yesterday, it’s not clear where he is right now and his phone has been unavailable since morning. We are already losing hope and wondering how to move forward with the awards on this line.
Good luck on Thursday. The day in the field ends around 3:00 p.m. I’m left alone in the office to wait for the promised nomination when Olga calls. He’s got a way downtown and we can meet. I put on my tartar, I take the award, I write my name on the sherpa and I rush to Štúrovo Square. Olga’s gonna hear the reasons for the award, but she wants a picture of her together elsewhere. He wants a church in the background, so we move to Farska Street.
At the same time, a retired former nurse is a deeply trusted woman, which has complicated her career in the past. However, it does not speak of this with bitterness, but rather it strengthened her in faith and in her relationship with people. She’s still helpful to them, and as she claims, she doesn’t have time for hobbies because she still has to help someone somewhere. Someone needs to be injected at home, someone else needs a ride. We’ll know that in her 60s, she started driving a car herself and uses it today almost as a social taxi.
She was baptized as Anna Olga, and within six years, she was called Anička. However, Olga had the official name, so when she enrolled in the school, she was told: “Anička, don’t be mistaken, your name is Olga. When she was 20, she was nicknamed Oli-Anka. Because she likes sheep, they eventually turned her into Olianka.
We talk about the relationship with God, her work, and the mayor she’s known since she was a colleague of his mother. It’s eloquent and full of energy. As long as he writes the nomination for another award-winning one, he interrupts writing ten times and adds another topic to the interview.
She likes to go to funerals. Others don’t rush in, but she likes to go because she knows it’s the last time and definitely what she says goodbye to the person and prays for him.
After an hour he will write an award for another precious person and rush to the church. He’s giving me a little medallion with Our Lady and making sure he’s protecting me when I’m anywhere.
