Almost every morning we begin by collecting nominations from the awards from the previous day. Most of the awards were found at work, and there is no time to write nominations. So today we were headed to the Faculty Hospital and then south. Not to the sea, just to the South. The charters collected and the targets are given. The company at the exhibition centre, the office in Kubra, but first goes to the firehouse and cafe in Biskupice. You tell yourself, they didn’t even start working properly, and they’re already going for coffee. It’s not exactly that.
The award-winning is Juraj Kocnár, the manager of the firehouse and coffee shop with a 15-year tradition. He built a business that by its very nature makes people a day more beautiful and bearable.
The pražareň and cafe in the area on the outskirts of the city, right next to the Váh dam, is surprisingly full of people already at nine o’clock. And maybe not surprisingly, because already in the parking lot we will smell a pleasant scent of roasting, which resembles popcorn rather than coffee. People sit on the terrace and in the café and enjoy fresh coffee. Our tartars will take them for a moment, smile, and cannot be disturbed by barking and gossiping. We’ve been waiting for the executive for a while.
Juraj acts more like a rock band sounder, he is a little cautious, but friendly. As soon as we introduce ourselves, he’ll stop me in a monologue.
Wait, wait, what kind of organization are you?
We could get to it. When the information comes down that we’re part of Trenčín 2026, the tension from his face disappears and we sit at the table together. He’ll offer us coffee. Excellent.
He’s at the firm today because of us, he just doesn’t know yet. He’s got a little baby at home, so he wants to be as much with his family as possible, and he’s here for an arranged meeting with a friend. When we finish reading the award and find out who sent it to him, it is clear that waiting for my friend Martin is pointless. We’re the friend.
Juraj is the type of entrepreneur who built the company from scratch and understands that the culture of business includes the support of the community in which it operates. For years he cooperates at the Wine Under the Castle festival, where two thousand people will be transferred each year.
If we want to be better here, we all have to do something about it.
It adds that, unfortunately, there is still a number of business classes that do not participate in the community’s assistance at all, with greater resources.
Two days ago, we appreciated a volunteer who rides a biker of seniors along the dam. At Juraj’s in Coffee Sheep will make them a great coffee for free whenever they stop here.
If he has a head and a heel and gets to me, we’re happy to help, he adds.
