Oh, so you're the tren-chin, I'm falling off, that's why the secrets on the phone. We make them unusual from everyday days. They only see four white walls all day long and now have the opportunity to see familiar places, nature, to talk. If there are smaller asses, two of them can drive at the same time, if someone is more voluminous, he drives himself
Who already improves the mood of the surroundings, if not the volunteer, who constantly invents new ways to give people the joy of life back, how to give them the feeling that they are seen, that they are loved, that they are needed, that they do not yet have to throw the flint into the living? We visited one of these at the Trenčín Volunteer Center today, where there are four ladies like this.
Dagmara is the coordinator of that centre. With their colleagues and the company of volunteers, they are engaged in several rewarding projects. In the project Readenkovo, seniors come to read books to kindergartens. They have a voluntary programme, dedicated to Roma children on Kasárenska Street, the Trenčín project helps Ukraine, where they organize tutoring and camps for Ukrainian children, as well as adult conversation courses. They go to elementary and secondary schools so that students themselves experience volunteering and may join in the future. They have both volunteer awards and volunteer week. The projects are even more in progress, but one particular one got us behind Dagmara.
For everything, a rickshaw, a three – wheel bicycle with a passenger seat in front. The project Cycloricša uses this means of transport for immobile or older clients who will no longer sit on their own bike. For example in Bratislava, cycling is a Danish project that works in 43 countries. Dagmara has made it to Trencin. It is only borrowed from Bratislava.
We have written projects and if they are approved, we will buy our own biker, perhaps two from Denmark, where they are produced.
On bike rides, clients take social services facilities from the neighbourhood. Eleven volunteers complete a total of five to ten trips a week. The youngest biker has fifteen, the oldest about 60. They drive three basic routes, for safety reasons mostly along bike paths.
But if the client says he wants to go to the marketplace in Soblahovska or says he hasn’t been to Partizánska or the square for a long time, he’s going there. It’s about a volunteer-to-client agreement, explains Dagmara. She adds that she drives for an hour and two, depending on how the volunteer has time and whether the client can sit longer.
If there are smaller asses, two can drive at once, if someone is more voluminous, he drives himself, and the volunteer specifies. He adds that clients are excited. They say they’re riding their bikes even though they’re riding.
We make them unusual from everyday days. They only see four white walls all day long, and now they have the opportunity to see familiar places, nature, talk, adds.
Dagmara also rides clients. As he says, he can’t sit around and if he relaxes, he can only ride a bike or on the mountains. Climbing the rocks is another hobby of her, to which her two little daughters have gladly joined.
