At first, I thought you were going to marry someone in those tartars. I'll start briefly and then divorce. I went through battlefields from Holland to the south of France, the south of Italy, and everywhere we were received with respect and respect. They respect those who fought against the fascists everywhere
When we rang at the entrance door of Miroslav Ondráš, a retired soldier, we had no idea that we would meet the walking encyclopedia of the military history of the region. Mr. Ondras didn’t even want to hear about us appreciating him just outside the door of the building. You considered it a gentleman’s duty to invite us to the restaurant.
Miroslav Ondráš comes from Senica, but he spent years at school and in a military unit in the Czech Republic and finally landed in Trencin. Since he was a professional soldier, his favorite discipline is the military history of the region. He actively seeks to promote it so that future generations do not forget the heroes who fought against the fascists.
I was interested in history not only in the development of some military battle but also in the context. I had to study right away even in what time, why, why, for what, who against whom and with what results,–he talks about his passion. When we asked him about his favorite theme, which is the military history of the region during the Second World War and the Slovak National Uprising, he started with a short sentence: “I will start briefly and then divorce.”
Hourly interesting talk about historical contexts and little known heroes from around Trencin began. He mentioned that, for example, near Skalka, below the monastery, there is a system of underground warehouses in which soldiers stored battle chemicals during the wartime Slovak state. The Germans wanted to use this material, but the warehousekeeper refused to release it. He was none other than Jozef Gabčík, later commander of the Anthropoid Squad, who just fled abroad through Poland after this incident in June 1939. Today he has a memorial board under a monastery on Skalka.
Ondráš studied his history mainly in connection technology and was also a passionate radio amateur. So far, he’s the head of the computer science ring. He is a member of the Paratroop Club, a club of military pensioners and an active member of the Slovak Association of Anti-fascist Warriors.
As a soldier, eighty-six parachuted jumps are over. He’ll be celebrating the ’80s and the last jump he graduated 20 years ago. He’s already been banned from jumping because of his thumb injury. While loading his parachute into his car, his colleague accidentally slammed it in the door.
A retired soldier is a polyglot, he speaks seven languages. He used this ability as the leading international project in Switzerland at various symposiums and meetings related to war history. He says that thanks to the participation of Czechoslovak soldiers in the anti-fascist resistance abroad and also to the Slovak National Uprising he met with respect and respect.
I went through battlefields from Holland to the south of France, the south of Italy, and everywhere we were received with respect and respect. Everywhere they respect those who fought against the fascists, he added in conclusion.
