As I work on this project, I’m starting to stop believing in coincidences. Today we went after the nomination, and we met Mr Mikus on the street, otherwise we would be looking for him in vain at home. When we got out of the last award-winning, we almost ran into Kophy, Peter Majzún, who was passing by. We just appreciated 40th man in the line that Kophy just started with his Babinka with candy.
The fourth ten was completed by a chess master who spent years in youth to teach her the royal game. Although chess is undemanding for sports equipment or spaces, attendance, tournament travel or accommodation still costs something. Miroslav often pulled his own wallet so that he wouldn’t deprive his wards of an experience.
In public awareness, chess is a game that develops logic and tactical thinking, teaches to understand context, vibrations memory, and thus builds the intellect of a young chess player. In some Western countries it is therefore even an optional subject in schools. Miroslav claims that the royal game builds the character of the player in the same measure. There is no return move in chess, and it teaches children to think about the consequences of their decisions. This seemingly inconspicuous habit will remain with them for life. Children think with their hands first. They catch the figure and pull. Gradually, however, they will find out that they have to think about everything first, otherwise they will not succeed,” says Miroslav, adding that the hand cannot command the head.
To the periphery: According to historians, the origins of chess should be sought in India and Persia, where they played a similar game as early as the 6th century C.E. The shah was the king in Persian, and the term chess mat means approximately ” king is helpless” or “king is defeated.” Thanks to the Arabs, chess gradually reached Europe through Spain and Italy. Today’s basic rules of chess settled here about 500 years ago.
