I'm in a hurry to work, but talk quietly. Who is the author? We try to impress children when they are still open to folk songs
Lenka Filipová comes from Záhorie, but she goes to Považie and lives in Kubra. She’s a student dramaturgist, but she’s a security engineer. For many years she was a soloist in Lúčnica, which suggests that she has more than a warm relationship to Slovak folklore and traditions.
Still in Bratislava, where she worked before, she founded the civic association My Song, in which she devoted herself to folk song and the creation of educational projects, which she has invented as complete stories. ♦ We walk in schools, kindergartens and through stories we teach children folk songs, traditions, crafts. We are trying to impress children at an age when they are still open to folk songs,” she said.
Lenka also collects costumes and lends them to various occasions. He’s got them around 40. From there, there is only a step towards sewing and embroidery, which he does in his spare time, although, as he says himself, three children cannot do that much. Yet, he finds time for his sweetest hobby, for singing. She and her friends have a women’s singing group of Knifes she runs. The repertoire also has curly notes. ♦ We go to sing occasionally at various events in the city, but also at weddings, and she added.
Lenka gave us a short interview, but after a while she was already on the hook, waiting for her at a completely different place to train someone in the area of occupational safety. Who knows, maybe it could also be a form of singing some folk song. She said goodbye to the broad smile her friend Victoria wrote about. Too bad we didn’t hear her singing for a short time. Maybe later at one of the cultural events, where the rafters will arrive.
