We just want us to have fun around us. There has been a boom in new construction and new families do not know the traditions that our ancestors kept. We're trying to get them closer and get them involved so it doesn't disappear. It's not about money at all, it's about the enthusiasm of these people
The award was addressed to Branislav, but he insisted that he belong to his wife Alena too, because the award concerned the Civic Association of the Merry Goldens, in which they are engaged together. Under its heading for 19 years they have organized numerous neighbourly, socio-cultural and sporting events. Their aim is to cement the inhabitants of this part of Trenčín, to give them cultural and sports activities while preserving and developing regional traditions. This year, for example, they organized a carnival procession and a merrymaking procession, charity run, building May, hanging Dura and currently on Saturday 1.8. prepare Annabal.
We want to return to Goldbread the events that were done here once,” says Brano and Alenka adds, that’s how they want to connect old-timers with families who moved to Goldbrew.
There has been a boom in new construction and new families do not know the traditions that our ancestors kept. We put the emphasis on keeping things from disappearing here,” explains Alena. They also began to focus on benefit events to help those most in need.
We want to meet strongly because we feel that people generally meet less, so we offer people space to spend time together.
They’re looking for money to organize events where they can. The city will help with something, especially this year, when there is more money for culture thanks to the ECOC. But most of all, they use the help of willing people who come and put their hands to work for free.
It’s not about money at all, it’s about the enthusiasm of those people.
During almost two decades of operation of the Happy Goldbread, they managed to bring together many willing Goldbrews and attract the locals so much that they do not have the attendance of the events. Five hundred participants will meet at larger events, such as the charity race mentioned above. More than a hundred masks from children to seniors have been gathered on this year’s carnivals.
Alena and Branislav Breznické are not professional cultural workers. She teaches college, he teaches high school. They do not wait for them to be entertained, but they take social life into their own hands and try to cultivate the community they live in.
