Miroslav Gavenda

We’ve heard of Dr. Gavenda’s amazing and popular pediatrician from several mouths. No wonder. Doctors are already helping people at difficult times as they work. However, we were not sent to Miroslav Gavend by grateful parents of small patients, but by his grateful friend and neighbor.

At the door of the surgery, the name Gavenda is repeated. The nurse will take us to my husband with a smile. He’s surprised, but at the same time curious about what’s coming next. Mrs. Daniela closely follows the ceremony and occasionally completes her husband’s conversation. It’s just a couple. Thirty years straight.

The neighbors like the Gavends. On a small square in Nové Zlatovce they have been developing good neighbourly relations for years. They organise joint meetings, such as May 1 or New Year’s Eve. They can talk, cope, and help each other.

Doctor doesn’t think about retirement yet. He’ll do the first and last for his patients. He’s doing expert examinations, recommending medication, getting contacts. He also cares about his patients years after they grew up out of children’s pants. For example, he calls them before Christmas to ask for health, to say a kind word, and to wish them a peaceful holiday. Grandma considers him God’s man to be one of his former patients.

He’s got a lot of hoes. First of all, the cottage in one of the small settlements near the Czech border, where he goes to relax and take care of his bees. He says he likes things more than a hundred years old besides women. In addition, he has been employed for five years by research into the history of the Gavend family, who come from Opatová. They lived there in 1764. There was a brewery in Skalka, and Gavenda’s sweetheart founded a dynasty, the eighth generation of which is also Doctor.
