Today we are leaving Trenčín and we are honorably heading to the hospital in Ilava, where Mrs Helenka is hospitalized after surgery. Although we arrived outside visiting hours, we met with nice and helpful staff. When we explained to the chief of the long – suffering department that we had appreciation for one of his patients, he allowed us to visit her directly in the room. Good news is accelerating recovery. The joy of Mrs. Helenka from the award was shared by Nurse Monika, who accompanied us throughout the visit as a pink angel and helped to communicate with the patient.

Ms. Helena Rep is Trencin. For many years she worked at the Elementary Art School and for a quarter of a century she led the Club of Friends of Serious Music. As she herself said, all around was heard folklore or popular music, and she, along with her friends, had the ambition to extend musical horizons to Trenčians. To show that serious music is not a sterile genre designed only by intellectuals, but it is able to thrill and elevate every susceptible listener. She organized concerts of classical music as well as tours to theatres and concert halls in Bratislava or Prague. Even in his old age, he still has plans for other events.

The information about the nomination from Mr Kulíšek also attracted interest from Helena’s co-patient who remembered that about 20 years ago she fell on the sidewalk and it was Mr Kulíšek who helped her when she was hit by her knee and could not help herself. Who knows, maybe if she had the opportunity, she’d appreciate it for this act “

Although we do not publish the picture of Mrs Helenka from the hospital for understandable reasons, her son Charles willingly gave us a picture of the family album.
