Every so often, we meet someone who makes our day a little better. Sometimes it’s a brief encounter, the right words at the right moment, or simply the way they treat the people around them. We often remember these people far longer than we remember public figures.
Yet we rarely read about them in the news. They don’t receive public awards, and often they don’t even realize the difference they make in their world.
Today, a person’s social significance is often measured by popularity, visibility, and social media reach. Followers, views, and likes are what count. But there are also people whose importance can’t be measured in numbers. Those are the people trenČIN is looking for.
The project celebrates people whose significance lies not in their status or public profile, but in the small, everyday acts through which they impact those around them and help create a more positive atmosphere in their community.
Over time, trenČIN will paint a unique portrait of the town of Trenčín – not through its history, its architecture, or its famous people, but through the people who shape the town’s everyday life and give it its true character. In doing so, it reveals what the town’s people value in one another and the kinds of actions they believe deserve recognition.
At the symbolic heart of the project stands Trenčín Castle, a place that for centuries has been associated with power, prestige, and prominent figures. trenČIN turns that tradition on its head. This time, the castle will honour those whose influence on the lives of others goes beyond their public visibility.
